Library Survey 2012

This is the time of the year when we look at what you have all been reading, note the comments in the 'Suggestions for Purchase' notebook, and decide on our buying plan for next year.  We would really like to hear from all of you so that we can take your opinions into account, and research the best things to buy!

Learn a New Skill in the holidays

Have you ever wanted to learn to type?  With more than one finger at a time?  It's a great skill to have, and makes working on the computer much quicker...and it's lots of fun, too!

Read a Classic

Next month, it is the 60th anniversary of the publication of an incredibly famous children's book: 'Charlotte's Web' by E.B. White.  It is still a great read today, and you can watch a movie version as well.

The Last Guardian

The final book in the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer is on our new book stand this week.  Those of you who have been following the series will enjoy the book trailer below!

Those of you who like action and adventure with fantasy mixed in, and who haven't yet discovered Artemis -  come and check out the series in the library!  Suitable for Year 5 and 6 readers.

IPad versatility

It is so exciting to get iPads into our school!  Lots of apps are being tested behind the scenes to make sure that we load the ones with the best content.  There are lots of great educational things that we can do with them, and lots of them are really creative.  This is a great clip showing how iPads (and iPods) can be used to actually make music, not just play it....
